At lot of the main music sites are limited on where they can broadcast now eg: a lot of UK radio stations cannot broadcast to people from other countries so a lot of our recommendations wouldn't work and Pandora is an American station so I can't listen to it.

A lot of media players let you browse a list of available radio stations by music type so maybe try that route?

All nice and personally customizable along with recommendations of similar artists to the ones you choose.
I use it all the time.
