I just finished Pucca Power up! That was such a cute and great platformer

I just loved it! 9/10 imo!

It was in quality something between New super Mario Bros and Giana Sisters DS

Can anyone recommend any other great 2d platformer for the DS?

I have played the Kirby games, Mega Man ZX, didnt like the Sonic, Batman or Thor games that much.. Contra 4 and Metal Slug 7 was great.

Have I missed some other nice games?

You should try Henry Hatsworth, it's a solid 2D platformer with added puzzling action.
Monster Tale is something good too apparently, I've not personally tried it.

If you liked Megaman ZX you could try Megaman Zero Collection.

You haven't mentioned one of the best platformers: The Legendary Starfy 5 (Densetsu no Stafi 1-3 are just as awesome (or better) but they're japanese and for GBA)

What about Castlevania(s)?

Monster Tale and Henry Hatsworth are pretty neat too. Both are 2D platformers with another game mechanic mixed in.

Where the wild things are is a pretty well done classic platformer with awesome 2D pixel art. It's by WayForward - who did Contra 4 as well.

I must admit, I haven't finished those last ones yet...

+1 for henry hatsworth, can be a bit annoying late in the game[especially if u're juggling], but it's really, really good
castlevanias are a must play
super princess peach is ok too, if you don't mind it being a little girlish and easy
n+ is also a nice supermeatboy like game, just much more simple
yoshi's island ds is also a recommendation unless you haven't played the original one

Yatterman 1 and 2,are average but fun games
Castlevanias (especially Order Of Ecclesia)
Megaman Zero Collection, really good but frustrating
Monster Tale
Legendary Starfy
NSMB
Monster Racer, the racing is kinda platforming

+1 for Batman Brave & the Bold. Low difficulty curve is the only complaint. (seriously, there's only like one mildly difficult boss).

Also, I recently discovered Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. It's actually really really fun. The controls are smooth, the challenges remain challenging, and Spidey's dialogue all combine to make a natural feeling super-hero game.

This is the only Starfy game to get localised though, there's actually a bunch more of them for the GBA, which I've heard may actually be better than the DS installment.
The third one even cameos Wario!
Starfy also appeared in Brawl as an assist trophy, and has a theatre poster in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Nintendo are quite proud of their little starfish, even if he seems to lack international appeal.

I tried Starfy on the DS and found it to be a little too easy for my tastes, even compared to Kirby.

DSi ware Shantae, totally worth it if you have the shop and the best 2d platformer IMO

on game cards batman brave & the bold is cool, and thor is not bad in small sessions also monster tale seems interesting

The Castlevania series and Megaman Zero Collection, ZX, ZX Advent are my recommendations.
A lot of side-quests you can do in this games and hours of gameplay. I find myself coming to these ones.

Thor: God of Thunder for DS is a good game. I've played the first chapters and I really like it.
Monster Tale is quite boring. I think it was too easy for me.
