So I got a European download of BotW, loaded it onto an SD card (16G, class 6, partitioned with I believe cluster 64k and FAT32). It boots up on loadiine... the load times are horrendous. Im talking about 3 minutes to teleport, load up a file, load a shrine, a minute or so every time I die, etc. Anything I can do to speed it up? I'm thinking of getting an SD extreme/pro 32G, but anything *else* I can do? Would downloading it as a channel make it run faster (I don't know how to do that...)? Thanks, -Paz
(I can link you the forum post (on a diff forum) if you want me to. It's a full PAL version)

Seriously, I don't understand why people still continue to use Loadiine.
Usually it's because they started using it months ago (before brazilian) - it worked at the time, and they never looked into anything else.

The people still using loadiine are not well informed people. It's the RX tools of WiiU hacking.

Mayby cause they think the usb method is risky or to complicated like me.
But I didn't have a choice and went for the usb method.

Its really not though. There's not much to it and if you follow the guide to a T, your Wii U will be just fine. Getting A9LH on the 3DS is a much more complicated and risky task in my opinion, but even that will still work out just fine if you follow the guide word for word and take your time.

So i went safe and dont want to risk a easy brick...Still dont know what coldboot or rednand are lol:)..well im easily satisfied lets say that!

Well, I can't simply buy a DS game, is there any method that's free, or have a game that I have? (I don't have any DS games on the wii U)

You don't need a ds game to install games via Brazilian. It just allows you to do some awesome cfw stuff.

And the ds games are like $7 - so if you want the benefits of that as well, it's totally worth it.

For Zelda you need a DS game and it's one of several DS games not any DS games, no other game but certain DS games will work. Mostly every other game you can do the brazilian method without buying a DS game but for Zelda you need it for Haxchi/CFW. They're like $7 but if you can't you can't.

But you could just download the US version and you don't need a DS game or anything, just installl it to usb.

No I was right for the European version what he has he needs a DS game. But if you had given me a moment to edit my post (which was while you were posting) I said he can just get the US version. You're too anxious to correct someone.

You were correcting me already...

Am I supposed to wait 10 minutes for your definitive post? How am I supposed to know that you're editing your stuff?

You don't need a ds game for Zelda you can just install the version for your region and it will run fine or you can use mocha for out of region games and mocha does not require a ds game to be used it just requires access to the Internet.

Well... I never could find a USA version of BotW... loadiine is region free, does brazillian work if I download a PAL game?

That's what I was saying if you go with the Pal version you need CFW to play an out of region game so you need a DS game. You need the US version if you want to just install it.

Ok well my mistake that you can use mocha without a ds game.

and now with the rtx video upscaling, and sdr->hdr conversion, even more reason to go nvidia
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
both of which work well in potplayer

amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
