Hacking Read only MicroSD

So I popped in my MicroSD to update to the latest AKAIO and I can't seem to be able to add or remove any files. What do I do? I can't reformat or anything.

Are you using a MicroSD/HC -> SD adapter?
If so, many of the adapters have a lock on the side.

I'm not using an adapter, just the usb reader that came with the AK2i.

And I can still delete stuff on the DS... wtf's up with that? Only the computer sees it as read only?

The same thing happens when I put any SD card into my PC's SD Slot. I have to use an old USB Multi-card reader to remove files from it.

No idea why.

The usb reader is most likely the problem those are not really good try a different reader

It really was the reader, tried the one that came with R4 just now and everything's fine. Thanks guys. I can't believe I got so worked up over this POS.

I got some crappy USB readers in the past too I snapped them and through them in the garbage

Probably a shitty USB reader........possibly could be a faulty micro SD although I doubt it.

Okay I'm thinking of getting a new adapter and while I'm doing that I thought I'd upgrade as well. Will this 8gb SDHC seamlessly work with my Acerkard 2i using the DSi? Does it look legit? http://mobil-telefon.vatera.hu/mobiltelefo..._183945767.html
