Reactive RGB software for eSports titles?

Does anyone know of a software similar to Aurora that supports just plain-jane RGB strips (either off of the motherboard header or from a USB adapter)? There is a serious effort to create an eSports team at my college, and I'd be the person in charge of PC assembly and maintenance. I think that reactive lighting would be a very good practical effect to visualize to the audience if someone got a kill/died/has a special item/etc.
