Ubisoft have just announced that their Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends game will now be released worldwide during the "first quarter 2013".

Not really much of a surprise, but while Rayman Legends was a game people were looking forward too it was bound to lose out on some sales with the likes of NSMB Wii U, ZombieU, Pikmin 3, NintendoLand, Skylanders, Assassins Creed 3 & CoD:BO2 all out on the same day as well as others and all either more anticipated or in franchises that wipe the floor with Rayman sales. Last years Rayman Origins was largely ignored when it launched in the busy late November period (said to have only sold 50,000 copies in the first month on Wii, 360 & PS3) and really didn't really start selling until stores reduced the price of the game to nearly half!

Rabbids Land though is still marked down for launch...I guess those little bastards just sell more. :(

I really hope this sells well, Its actually really nice to see Rayman not only remain relevant, but to be awesome and unique whilst doing so.

Looking at the Wii U games pre-order charts, this wasn't even in the top ten. Normally Rayman has done well with Nintendo system launches but then the launch line ups of Wii/3DS didn't have Mario or even Skylanders to contend with!

Rayman doesn't seem to me as a launch title selling game for me. I mean..
N64 - Mario 64
NGC - Luigi's Mansion
Wii - Zelda TP
I wouldn't buy Rayman to take my wiiU's virginity... :P

Good to see both of them weren't delayed; that would be a real crushing blow to the "I want to pet the rabbids!" demographic.
