QUOTE(tueidj @ Feb 24 2010, 10:13 AM) I don't care what people do with RawkSD as long as they don't clog up this thread and IRC with questions about things we don't support.

RawkSD v3 will be out when it has enough cowbell.

hey guys,

yesterday i heard that it is possible to play Custom songs from GH games or fret on fire on rockband 2
so,i installed my sd card and put some customs on it.
but when im starting RB2 and want to play a custom, then ill get an error that my custom is ''out of date'' or something like that. i see the customs in de tracklist so i guess that its not the pc part whats wrong.
but its really annoying, cause i tried everything already.
i use the pal version of rawkSD for my pal wii,so thats not the problem. i have also run the rawksd patcher with succes so that couldn't be the problem either.
maybe im missing an Âios, cause im reading everywhere something about ios 37 and 232. but i don't know where to get en which one i need.
my wii firmware is by the way 4.2E
can somebody tell me what to do?

@kirbypower:

Dude are you running the game from the original DVD? RawkSD doesn't work if you use Backup Launcher or USB Loaders.

Ok new question:

As I learned something while doing that "swap charts trick" I was wondering: is it possible to open the midi, copy a guitar chart track, create an empty bass track and paste the guitar chart over it? This way I could have guitar and bass on some songs I've found with only guitar charts?

Ok it would be like two guitars playing coop but it would be nice to, at least, have a way to play some songs with my friends until I learn how to properly create bass and vocal charts.

I tried doing this with "Long way down - Goo Goo Dolls" (from FoF), but no matter what I do, the bass chart always reverts itself to guitar chart after I export it to a new midi.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here or if this trick is just not possible to pull off. Any hints?

BTW I'm trying this on Reaper.

I'm guessing your problem is that you're not changing that Track Name event in the MIDI track you copy over, it's the first text event at time 0, it needs to be changed.

so. Hermes newest uLOADER 4.9 is supposed to emulate NAND, people are saying GH5 DLC works with it.

is this true, and if so, how will that affect the efforts on Rawk 3.0?

okey,thankx
so all i have to do is to find a way to boot my backups with the disk channel.
i tried the menu patcher from Waninkoko and menu rebooter but they didn't work.
if i start the menu patcher channel(installed wad file) or the menu rebooter,i recieve only a black screen, like my wii's power off
is it not that my wii have to reboot so i can start my backup with the diskchannel? but nothing happens.
and if i try to start the menu patcher from the HBC,then will my wii reboot and it shows the intro from the backup in de diskchannel.
but if i start it,then i recieve an error.

is there any other way to boot my backup from the diskchannel?

Go away. RawkSD doesn't work with backup discs and you are needlessly clogging this thread with questions about how to work around it. The answer to every question of this nature is and always will be, "RawkSD works perfectly with a retail disc on a normal Wii." This game costs $15 and is worth every penny.

It simply won't work with a backup at all (Unless you have a modchip which apparently you don't).

That's funny.. I must have imagined doing exactly that in the summer with a downloaded copy of the US version (before the euro one came out and i bought it).. and no i don't have a modchip.

And this is what gives the RawkSD team all the more credibility. I applaud the desire to keep this from turning into a tool for blatant piracy. RB2 was well worth the $50 that I paid for it so the $15-$30 I've seen it for recently is a bargain.

I'm pretty sure I've used RawkSD with SoftChip r99 and IOS 222 (rev3 at the time) and a backup disc (since I've never had an original for this). I had to jump through some hoops, but I did get it to work.

Edit: Yup. Found my old post on this topic from July 4th last year.

Huh?

Sorry AerialX I don't know much about Reaper. Can you instruct me on how do I change that ?

Still, as many times as the question's been asked you'd think it would be obvious.

Also, don't forget that v3 won't support backups.

In REAPER, double-click the instrument part track to open the MIDI editor. At the bottom of the editor box is a section for text events, represented as green arrow-box-thingies. The first one is the Track Name while the rest are Events. Double-click the track name and change it to correspond to the instrument for that track.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't PS2 discs/ISOs of RB and GH work in loading into RawkSD?
PS2 discs for Guitar Hero 1, 2, and Rock the 80's can be imported in RawkSD, as these discs are transparent-format (basically CD-R's) and these games aren't available for the Wii. Later games require the Wii discs.

Yes, so I've noticed. I'm pumped for RawkSD 3.0 because it means putting all of my music in one place and thumbing my nose at all of my local "360 snob" friends. They make such a big deal about the 360 version being so pretty, so you go there instead (I even own a 360 Les Paul just for this reason) only to have profile sign-in headaches, crappy tilt mechanisms, and to find out that they've only downloaded the free songs.

They come to my place and I have to swap 4GB Transcend cards because I actually have that much DLC... do they enjoy the vast amount of music? sure, but they complain about the card swapping (sheesh). Go to their places and I have to bring my own 360 Les Paul or risk using a partially functioning controller; they come here and there is a selection of six axes, all constantly maintained.

So needless to say, 3.0 is the lynch-pin to RB2/Wii kicking some serious @$$.

I personally think people need to give good ol' Szalkow a break on reiterating the same answer to repeated questions.

(That's a compliment, by the way.)

Saw Rockband 3 is coming out in 3rd qtr of 2010... I wonder if the Rawksd 3.0 is set to come out the same time... kinda like a double shot of power
