Hacking Raw Dump question

I have been looking into making copies of my existing Wii games, but everything I have read about Raw Dump states that you need an LG drive. Is this true? And is there some other software that I can use to make a backup disc?

* LG-8162b
* LG-8161b

You then need Raw Dumper to dump the iso ...

Then just burn with nero or imgburn

Seriously?? Without that type of drive you can't make a copy of your disc? I find that hard to believe given all the homebrew and game coding going on....

you can rip your games using the wii and your wifi network using various homebrew, but to be honest its not gonna be very nice to your Lens in the long run.

quicker to jus d/l a ready made iso mate.

You can use the wiidvddumper. This will dump to sd,usb or over wifi to a pc

While I know this is bordering on piracy, I assure you that I am only looking to have copies of my own games. But how do I know is a ready made .iso is corrupt or has a virus?

I am assuming that wiidvddumper works by having the disc inside the wii and transferring it as described? Does that shorten the life of your wii laser reader?

and i already mentioned above that WiiDumper and the like will damage your laser with excessive use.
