If you follow what I have you will end up with a DSTTi. Trust me it works. I had DSTT before and I never had problems with it but I still had to patch a few games. In the end this is an R4 that I would say is worth it.

This is the R4i Gold which is sold by simplymods and I must thank them for giving me a copy to try out and review and overall it is pretty good packaging and holds everything safe and secure. The packaging comes in a box which I prefer and the box is somewhat small as small as the box Acekard2i comes in and it is pretty good you open it and everything is in place in a plastic tray. Safe and secure and good packaging so it is a good way to allure the buyer. I like the design of it because it truly allured me. This is a R4i Gold unfortunately as well as all R4's after 2008 because R4 stopped being produced and made after 2008. Here are some features R4i Gold offers.

<b>Part 1: Installing</b>
This is a R4 clone and if you are wondering what clone it is then you will be glad to know it is a DSTTi Clone. DSTT or DSTTi are pretty great I used to have DSTT and I enjoyed it so I hope I do not have problems using this. You can get the R4i Gold firmware <a href="http://r4igold.cn/downloade.asp" target="_blank">here</a>. Just simply extract and drag and drop to root of your microSD card and if your wondering what that is it is simply the front of your microSD card once you open it. Anyways you have to be sure to get 1.8b firmware and do not scoll down and get 1.4b thinking it is for DSi just get 1.8b and it will work fine. The flashcart already comes compatible with DSi but you have to push it in sometimes to get it to work. Shows Star Wars Lethal Alliance as same as DSONEi. After your done downloading the firmware you must download <a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AGBX8V2A" target="_blank">this</a>. After that you are set with no problems guaranteed just simply extract and drag and drop as I said.
<b>Part 2: Getting ROMS, Homebrew, etc.</b>
Have fun with the flashcart and personalize it with your games and everything now. I had fun getting skins and stuff from <a href="http://filetrip.net/" target="_blank">here</a>. That place has everything you need for flashcarts, skins, homebrew, etc. As for games you have to look around for those because I will not link to them for obvious reasons.
<b>Part 3: GUI/OS</b>
I can't say much for the GUI/OS except about how it was simple and easy to use. It used DSTT's exact OS so it showed the games and everything with .nds automatically. The entire thing is based on touch screen so when you go for settings you will have 2 options.
Top left has SysOption.

Touch the + icon found to the right of the rom/homebrew/etc.

DSTT's are very good and easy and compatible.

I have no complaints since I am experienced with DSTT but the clone is very similar to DSTT and DSTT is so simple it is recommended for playing ROMS only. It is easy and good to use and no complaints except for loading on DSi. You must push it down for it to really load or work. I am experienced with DSTT and I only ever used it to play simple games and such so this R4i Gold being a DSTT clone is truly recommended for ROMS only and if some do not work simply get a prepatched version and your set.

I cannot say much except get moonshell if you wish to use media otherwise DSTT cannot use media it only reads homebrew or ROMS. It is specifically specified for ROMS and homebrew. MoonShell is a great program for all flashcarts which help play media such as movies and music so I recommend you obtain that by looking around <a href="http://filetrip.net/" target="_blank">here</a>.
<b>Cheat Support:</b>
This uses usrcheat.dat so simply get usrcheat.dat <a href="http://cheats.gbatemp.net/Temp/" target="_blank">here</a> then extract and drop it in your TT's folder. Simple and easy to update so after doing so just go to ROMS and set the settings to your liking.
<b>Real Time Save/Game Guide:</b>
This is only available for fully featured flashcarts. R4's or R4 clones do not support this unless you get something such as Wood firmware which currently works on original R4. Real Time Save/ Game Guide is not featured. If you are willing to spend few bucks to have the best in flashcarts I suggest you look for something better because R4's are generally for those who have tight pockets and those who want it simple.
<b>Skinning Support:</b>
Uses DSTT skins and you can get those from <a href="http://filetrip.net/c115-DSTT-skins.html" target="_blank">here.</a> Nothing much to say but how simple and easy it truly is. When downloading extract when done and change the new skin folder as default and overwrite the former skin found inside TTMenu Folder.

Before I go to why I hated this flashcart I must say that I thank simplymods for sponsoring us and also about how they have cheap and affordable prices for everything and customer satisfaction. Everybody has their own opinion but I would gladly spend at least 10 bucks to get something better at least not this clone the R4 they offer is much better. I did not enjoy using this flashcart. It has many problems so far and it is not updated frequently. It is a clone of DSTTi which note is simple but the fact that it is complex in getting this to turn fully DSTTi is somewhat easy but still complex so it is not worth that much. I recommend if your going to get a R4 that you get the original R4 or this if you must if you prefer simple ROMS compatibility. I am a multifeature person so the fact that this did not offer as much as the Wood firmware made me dislike it alot. Everybody has their own opinion but I must say not all R4 clones are great and unfortunately these are one of them.
