Hardware R4i Gold Card NOOB HERE

Hi All. I am a Noob. I just bought my first handheld system and it is the blue 3DS XL. I heard about the R4 cards and did some research and found that the R4i Gold is the card that I want. I live in New York so I was wondering what websites you guys used to buy your cards. I don't want to be scammed/hacked/etc. I am planning on buying the micro sdhc 32gb card separately. Is it easy to format the micro sdhc after I purchase it? What steps do I need to take? As I stated, I am a NOOB when it comes to the 3DS and anything related to it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe as you knew,3ds and dsi firmware has been updated to the latest version,but r4i gold 3ds from r4ids.cn can directly work on it, far as i knew,now many store provides pre-flashed card,so you dont need any updating ,such as gamekool.com ,bought from them and tested it,works perfecttly.

Alright guys, I finally got my Sandisk 32gb Class 10 ultra micro sdhc card and my R4i Gold card for my 3DS XL.
Now how do I format and get this to work? Please go easy on the noob

I want to play all NES, SNES, GENESIS, DS, GAMEBOY, GAMEBOY ADVANCE games on this. I have all of the roms for PC emulation. Is there anything special I need to know/do for 3DS Emulation?

Alright, so far I have gona to r4i-sdhc.com and download the latest version 1.65b English. I unzipped the files onto my FAT32 formatted micro sdhc card. I inserted the micro sdhc into my r4i gold 3ds card and inserted it into my 3ds xl. It freezes on the "www.r4ids.cn starting" screen. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. Also, can I use roms that I use for PC emulation when i use emulation on my 3DS?

Why the hell would you download files from r4i-sdhc.com when your cart is from r4ids.cn? Delete everything from your microSD and download the files from r4ids.cn

Yes, you can use the same roms you use on the PC.

And I doubt gameboy advance emulation will work on your cart. You'll need to get a Supercard DSTWO for that.

@ErwinL ok I did everything you said above and it worked. Just in case anyone else reads this thread in the future, you need to create a folder at the root of your SD card that is called "SNES" if you want to play roms. Just put the roms in that folder and the emulator will read it.

I'm thinking about creating a guide for noobs like me. A step by step, fool's guide to getting your R4i gold card running.

Any ideas on where to create/put it?

you need to apply a Firmware update
www.r4igold.cn/downloade/R4iMario_3DS45_NDSi145_Patch.rar
download and extract and run like you would a .nds game
it will give you instructions, after it is all done you should be able to have it run on 4.5.0-10
you will need a console that the card is not blocked on for it to work
