Hacking R4 vs G6

If you were to compare G6 Real 2GB with the R4 (lets say we put a japanese 2GB kingston card in the R4), which one would be the best? A.k.a which one should I buy?

I would get R4, because I believe it does everything the G6 can do, and has more compatibility with games. Downlaod play has also been solved. And plus, there are WAY more skins/themes available to *accessorise* your R4 with. There are over 3000 themes for R4 on ndsthemes.com. More people have the R4, so you are more likely to get support with it from other users.

1. No argument here

R4 is roughly a third of the price by itself.
2. Who said the G6R didn't? In fact the compatibility of the G6R is greater than the R4 (the only ones I can think of that make that big of a difference are Tony Hawk: DJ and CastlevaniaoR)
3. This hardly helps. The most it will do is improve the compatibility of a few recent games; no doubt the developers will release similar updates after a short wait.
4. I don't really see this as a pro, but I guess you could say the R4 allows you to switch micro SD's.
5. The G6R also has auto patching, though homebrew itself is in a very shabby state.

Having been stuck with a certain size in the memory in the past I would recommend going with the R4. I have a 1Gb card for movies, and a 2Gb card for games and just switch them when I need too. It leaves you wiggle room if you start filling up the cart as games get bigger in the lifecycle of the console.

People are giving reasons for the R4 that the G6 also has.
The G6 has the same or better compatibility, autoDLDI, you don't have to configure save types 'etc' to play...
It reminds me of the WiiKey. People give currently invalid reasons for the R4 being better because:
1. They have it
2. It used to be the best


One thing though, what's this about a battery? The G6 is supposed to eventually just wear out or something?

I was referring to the slot2 G6 that I have. I completely forgot that there was a slot1 for it now :|

You had to define different settings for the nds games to work with the older G6 in the manager, as for the battery. I recall that even the new G6 come with inbuilt size, so it will most def. be using a battery of some kind then. Meaning that eventually sometime. It will wear off and you won't be able to save anymore.
