Hacking R4 the "R" icon

I've always asked myself what this icon at the games menu on the upper right is for. The R when you press it it gets green. So anyone knows?

When you press it, you can reset back into the R4 menu.

when the icon is green you can jump out of a game into your menu so you dont have to restart your DS when you want to play another game. when its green press L+R+A+B+X+Y at the same time to jump out of the game and press L+R+START+SELECT to reset the rom

It comes in handy for some games, also note this doesn't work on homenrew and it can cause some games and homebrew to become glitchy or freeze. Also soft resetting a few times tend to cause games you play next to end up freezing, so in the end, it tends to be best to turn the DS off and on again to clear the memory.
