Hacking R4 loading problem plz help

i am having troubles with my R4 the game is stuck on the Loading screen and i waited for about 30 minuts and its still on the loading screen
plz help i got my R4 a while ago and i still didnt play it cause of this problem

what version is your R4?

there are several versions out there now lots of clone R4 cards


examples :

R4 II
R4 III
R4 ADVANCE
R4 SDHC
R4 HC

and many many more

you may know this following information or not ....

if it came in a box it will have a website on the box you need to goto this website with your web browser an download the latest loaders these are often called KERNEL files this are to load the operating system for the R4

once you have downloaded the kernel files you need to UNZIP them to a folder

there should be a couple of files and a folder

something like this ....

_system_ (this is a folder full of files)
moonshl (this is a folder full of files)
_DS_MENU.dat (this is the system menu data file)
_DS_MSHL.nds (this is the moonshell/multi media player loader)

with a clone card there maby an extra file or files you will need to copy these also!

You need to copy all the above files and folders onto your memory card ....

You may want to also make a folder on the memory card to put all your game files in and rename the folder to something like GAMES or something you will know where to put your .nds game files .....

Put a couple of games that you have downloaded into the games file you may need to extract them if they are in zip files you just need the game or .nds file example mario.nds just put the mario.nds file onto your memory card into the folder called games .....

Now put the memory card into your R4 card and start the ds up or power it on if you have done it right the R4 should boot up and show you a menu with 3 icons GAME / MULTIMEDIA / SLOT 2 choose game and then press a on the folder called GAMES choose your game you wish to play and press A on the ds to load it

i followed these steps step by step
i downloaded from the website and got the files
_system_
moonshl
_DS_MENU (under it it says *DAT File*)
_DS_MENU (under it it says 8Configuration Settings*)
_DS_MSHL.NDS
i created a new file called GAMES and extracted my game (pokemon ranger) and i got many files i only added the pokemon ranger.nds in the GAMES file and switched the game on
but its still stuck on the loading screen

did i do something wrong?
oh btw my R4 is SDHC

is the mem card formatted FAT or FAT 32 not that it would make a great difference its worth a try ...

and have you tried using normal Micro SD none sdhc card or can you borrow one? to eliminate a bad sd card

finally have you tried other versions of the R4 loader such as the official one link to original 1.18 kernel

I have the same card, same problem
It's R4 SDHC

I also have an R4 Upgrade

I tried two microSD, 4 & 8Gb with the firmware from the web in the box (both cards have the same box) and with the R4 Upgrade they work fine.

With the R4 SDHC they both stuck at the Loading... screen

ok found 3 more variants of the R4 kernel to try the both of you ..

the first is a TTDS VARIANT link (there was an R4 CLONE based on TTDS hardware)

the second is another R4 HC kernel link from one of the earlier clones

the Third is a more recent R4 SDHC kernel link I found just now

Ok, solved the problem.

You need to download a proper firmware for the SDHC version:

i did download all those links you gave me and didnt work
i tried watching some videos in youtube about it i got many solutions but none of them worked
i am still stuck on the loading screen nothings new

are u sure you have a r4ds sdhc?
it might be another clone of r4ds

yes i am 100% sure
and if you want to know exactly whats written on the box here it is:
deluxe r4 SDHC revolution for the DS (NDSL/NDS)

oh and the site on the box is http://www.r4deluxe.com

download the 1.20 kernel.

extract it.

move everything inside the folder to the root of the microSD.

ta-da

if that doesn't do it, it's an issue with your card or the hardware. these things are not complicated.

i just want to make sure of 1 thing
the box says SDHC but the game has (R4 DELUXE Revolution for the DS (NDSL/NDS)
thats SDHC right?

No, that's an R4 DELUXE.

The SDHC in this case comes from the fact that almost all R4 clones have SDHC support. It is an R4 Deluxe.

I don't know if you have, but trying the latest kernel from the r4deluxe site (which you said is printed on the box) should most definitely fix the problem. And then, if it still doesn't work, it's almost definitely a broken/faulty card.

Once you confirm that, I would personally recommend installing YSMenu rather than an R4 Branded kernel. Just search on the forums for R4YSAuto.

i dunno why i didnt try it but now i did now
i formated it and switched it to FAT32 and
it worked!!!!!!
if finally worked!!!!!!!!!!
