Hacking R4 3ds Gold identifying which revision?

Hi, I just brought a R4 3ds Gold flash card. It doesnt indicate the revision on the packaging. I want to make sure it is the latest revision C. How can I find out what revision it is? Thanks.

You need to turn the cart over and look at the back, right above the metal pins.

Cool thanks, my flash card appears to be revision C. So I guess the next step is to update the card with latest software. I am at raids.cn download page. Can someone tell me which file I should download and install? What is difference between patch and kernel? What are the steps to update flash card software? Any help would be appreciated. BTW I have a DSi with 1.4.4U software. Thanks.

Patches are Firmware
Firmware = Console update compatibility

Wood is the Kernel
Kernel = Game Compatibility

you flashcard is new
pop it in your DSi and tell us what the game is or take a picture

you might not have to update the firmware as they normally keep them up to date in shop

you will need to extract the Kernel to the SD card for the Flashcard to Work
Firmware patches are only needed once, so once they have been run and applied they can be deleted from the SD card

When I try to run it I'm getting stuck at "www.r4ids.cn starting"

Do I need to update the patch and kernel for it to work?

that means the kernel isnt on it correctly or its something wrong with the SD card
what does the root of the SD card look like

you can update your card if you wish but its working on the latest 3DS Firmware, just not the latest DSi

It was empty..I just download the latest kernel WOOD R4 V1.56 and extract it to the root of 8gb sandisk sdhc card.

Should update the patch too? if yes, I should run the "R4iGold_3DS45_NDSi145_Patcha_NDSi.nds" file and not the "R4iGold_3DS45_NDSi145_Patcha_NDSL.nds" , correct?

yep so that should be the kernel sorted

yes you run the NDSi i believe to update a working card
one is for working and one is for not working card, the correct one will pass the check and the wrong one will just say fail so doesnt matter what one you run, will only update if correct

Wow, I finally got it working.

The game is now Konami Digital on the menu. Thanks for the help guys.
