I would like to know if certain things have been done regarding 3DS's running Luma.

Has the demo limit for 3DS games ever been lifted?

Has it been made possible to have infinite playcoins?

Has it been made possible to unlock and max out every badge?

Luma3DS doesn't directly offer any features on these. But:
  • Demo count can be reset with Cthulhu
  • You can set playcoins to any amount with JKSM savemanager (you should use JKSM and/or Checkpoint for backing up saves anyway)
    • Or see above. Hope the old play coin setter still works.
  • No idea about the badges. Never used this. Know nothing about this.
Good luck and have fun!

p.s.
Don't get intimidated, frustrated or discouraged by non helpful replies. GBAtemp usually has more to offer.

I do believe that there are homebrew that can lift the demo limit but if you have Luma3DS, why not just install the CIA's instead? @KleinesSinchen posted the homebrew you need for this, Cthulhu
There are save editors that can give you more coins or the link posted above mine or JKSM
IIRC, messing with badges has been linked to getting banned. So unless something has changed (which I am not finding anyone saying it has,) then you risk getting banned for messing with the badges,

If also helps, you can use GYTB to use custom badges. However, I believe that there's a limit of badges amount after all (around 1000)

I have some n00b questions (and I also don't want to waste a whole new thread on this):
- Is there a list of currently updated/supported on latest FW homebrew?
- Is there any homebrew that you think is particularly handy/necessary to have(FTPd, checkpoint, etc.)?
- Is it worth putting a screen protector on a new 2DS XL(I have leftover new 3DS XL screen protectors that seem like they'd fit fine)?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

1)I think almost all homebrew should work on current fw
2)FBI,checkpoint,twilight menu++, Jksm, if you have a new 2ds xl that came with MK7 like mine did, then get ctgp-7
3)Better safe than sorry

Thanks for the info! Just finished setting up twilightmenu++ so now begins the setup process for each of the games :) I guess I have all of the immediate homebrew that I need. I'll install the screen protector after I finish setting up the nds games

To add on to this, open_agb_firm allows you to play GBA games natively without the need of making a cia inject.
