Hi, i want to install some official themes that i have on my hard drive but i have heard about some bugs. Can someone explain them and offer a workaround that still installs them to the home screen?

thanks

Anenome cant put themes on the system theme chooser
The stock theme manager is limited to a collection of official themes installed as a CIA. That means no mixing and matching between official and homebrew themes in a shuffle.

Navigating between the themes is cumbersome where flipping pages loads way too slow IMO. There's also the terrible drawback where if you visit Nintendo eShop or Theme Shop, this automatically uninstalls and deletes all of the pirated themes CIA.

Three things
1 i only plan to use this method for official themes
2. I do get the lag i guess.
3. I think it got fixed in the xmas release of the desktop tool. Or can i not use faketik?

There's about 764 official EUR themes. These are the known TitleIDs for EUR themes CIAs.

EUR
0004008C00009800 Theme (CTR-M-HMMP-00) (E)
.
.
0004008C00009805 Theme (CTR-M-HMMP-05) (E)

The stock theme manager limits the view to the first 100 themes it finds.
In order to see and add latter themes, you have to manually delete each and every theme to stay within the 100 limit while deleting all the themes between the first 99 and the 100th you wish to add.

2. I do get the lag i guess.
Go try out Anemone3DS. Once you see the speed difference browsing themes between stock and homebrew, it's like why does anyone want to be masochist over what should be a trivial matter.

Come again?

faketik won't help if the installed themes are deleted. It's not the ticket that's removed.

You visit eShop or theme shop → Nintendo notices your installed home menu themes.cia is a pirated copy → they'll uninstall the DLC off your Nintendo 3DS folder.
(This auto removal only happens for pirated DLCs. Nonlegit games and updates are left alone.)

Here's a explanation why some people have their DLCs and themes deleted when visiting eShop and others do not.

Alright, i will just sit through the half shutdown thing and use anenome. At least i can have a lot more that way.

Wait, so before i take a look at the link, why does my pirated smash dlc get replaced with my legit ones?

Did you purchased with your own money an incomplete copy of the Super Smash Bros. DLC from Nintendo eShop but switched over to FBI installing a complete copy from a pirated CIA?

If you did so, then that eShop/theme shop will only remove parts of the DLCs. You keep the individual items of the DLC you bought from Nintendo.

Yep, but faketik doesnt seem to work...

I don't know how it is on the 3ds, but the wii u has one of the biggest fuck ups I've ever seen on a system. all dlc use the same ticket. the only difference is the location of the dlc via cdn. that's why any game with free dlc can be used to get all dlc for free without haxchi, cbhc, or mocha. the ticket afaik for both wii u and 3ds are downloaded before the content. it's as soon as you click purchase, since they're supposed to decrypt the content.

faketik isnt going to do nothing in regards to whats happening to the dlc when using the official theme app.

I was talking about smash

No, 3ds uses seperate tickets afaik.

What are you trying to accomplish with faketik? That app installs fake tickets for any titles that are missing tickets (legit or fake).

If you have a private legit ticket for the SSB's DLC you purchased from eShop that's already installed on your 3DS system, faketik isn't going to install or replace that with a nonlegit ticket.

Also, you can't fool Nintendo's server side checks. Having fake tickets won't magically allow you install or download eShop titles for free or avoid the auto uninstall done to pirated DLCs when visiting.
