Hacking Question regarding FW 4.1U

Is it safe to do the official 4.1U update?

and if it is safe, do I have to reinstall preloader (or anything else for that matter...ie any ios's) or simply update the hacks.ini file?

I only ask because I upgraded from 3.2 to 4.0 using a guide which allowed me to upgrade through Nintendo and keep all the homebrew/hacking stuff.

Updating will remove preloader, CIOSCORP, and any custom system menu themes. Your HBC and cIOS and stuff should remain intact though you may have to patch IOS60 again if you need to load wad installed VC games from the sd card menu.
