Homebrew Question regarding custom firmware and Homebrew

Hello! So here's my situation. I own a 3DS (Ver 11.3.0-36U) and a New 3DS (Ver 11.6.0-39U). Formerly, I used Homebrew via Soundhax on both consoles, mainly to play Fire Emblem Fates with a few patches. I own a physical copy of Birthright and purchased the additional paths Conquest and Revelation online. I didn't play for quite a while and then I saw my New 3DS had updated to 11.6 and I could no longer use Soundhax. Now I want to play Fire Emblem as I used to again, with the patches, but I can't do it on my New 3DS anymore since Soundhax doesn't work, and I can't do it on my old 3DS either if I want to play the other two paths apart from Birthright, because I purchased these paths on the NNID of my New 3DS. I also can't transfer the system from a New 3DS to an old 3DS, since it's not possible. I can't even purchase the additional paths again on my old 3DS since I would have to update my system. Really, I just want Homebrew, but I saw that apparently one of my only options is getting boot9strap using a flashcard. But if I do that, how will I be able to boot the game from my physical cartridge of Birthright? What should I do? Does anyone know any other alternative? Thanks!

The cartridge (ntrboot) is only for installation. Once b9s is installed you don't need the cartridge in anymore.
If you want alternatives you really only have seedminer or a hardmod.

If you have a 3ds on 11.3 just install CFW on it. You can do so free. Once it has CFW purchase a compatible. legit DSiware title and use the DSi transfer method to install b9s on the new 3ds

use soundhax to get cfw on your old 3ds, and then you can use dsitransfer to get cfw on your new 3ds. alternatively, you can put cfw on your old 3ds using soundhax, and use freeshop to get the paths. once you have cfw, you can update to 11.6 with no worries
