Hacking Question about Yokai Watch 3 modding

Hello, I have a question regarding Yokai Watch 3. I'm currently editing the textures of the yokai but I'm curious if when I'm done, I can just add the edited files into luma or if I need to uninstall any update data first. I'm mainly asking because I have an existing save file and I don't want to risk corrupting it...

Export your save with Checkpoint before actually loading your mod, just in case.

This gives you a backup to use and edit (with external tools)
