Question about using cheats on EdiZon for Switch

I'm reading the tutorials and I seem to see conflicting information unless I'm just not understanding it right. It says when you get EdiZon setup, you go to you launch cheats updater from the Homebrew menu. But I also saw a tutorial that showed how to manually add cheats via text file in the correct directory. Which is the way you're supposed to do it?

Also, where does the cheats updater get their cheats from? Because I've found a bunch of different databases and some have far more cheats than others, so I have no idea if the cheats updater would be getting the cheats from one of the places I found that has a ton of cheats on there.

Or did I totally misunderstand the tutorials and does the cheat updater not add them from the internet at all and does it just add cheats you manually put into the directory yourself via text file?

Both. But the aio updater doesn't have all the cheats i want. So...i have to go here (or any other cheat website) to download and put them manually on my sd. And it works fine atm.
