They don't do anything. They're there to show what you've already done. And the penis thing too.

Their as useless as Gamersscore on the 360.

Only thing good about them is they keep you playing the game untill you have every single achievement.

Not entirely. In a lot of cases they add replay value or encourage styles of play that you may not have considered.

unlock items to use in HOME (like in White Knight Chronicles)
or
maybe be and XMB Theme (like in Final Fantasy XIII)

yeah only a score on my seconde account i have 242 tropys and i dont care about them

Or whatever you're required to do to get trophies.
