You stay out of date because Luma no longer supports A9LH.

If you stay on A9LH, you won't get more Luma3DS updates

its a new exploit for the 3ds giving us even more early access to the 3DS stuff, for example dumping the Bootroom(like the BIOS for the computers). This should help to fake signatures to firmware files, giving us more choices of hacks that can add better stuff. Ultimately, imagine A9LH but even earlier boot and on steroids and that's basically sighax

It should stay, only Luma3DS is going down.

It'll stay, you just won't get Luma updates anymore.

Sighax is a new entry point with an infinitesimal lead in boot time over A9LH, in addition to some new entrypoints essentially. Nothing really groundbreaking for the average user.

Luma, however, will stop supporting A9LH, and has migrated to SigHax/B9S, so you won't be able to get the newest features and such.
