Misc Question about Gateway 3DS + Netplay

Is it safe?

I know that Gateway 3DS is compatible with netplay, but is there a risk of getting caught and getting your 3DS banned or anything? Whether you're playing via online matchmaking or with a friend via FC?

Since a few updates ago.
I've not heard of anyone getting banned for using a Gateway online yet. People have been banned for using stolen credit cards on the eshop etc. but no bans for flashcart usage, yet.

It's possible, sure. Each cartridge has a unique ID, and if they see multiple people with the same ID playing at the same time, I imagine it'd be in their power to blacklist that ID from the servers.

Will it happen though? Who knows.

I believe their definition of "netplay" is "playing on the net." You're right, they just phrased it confusingly.
