Hacking Question about CFW

Hi there! I have a 3DS XL 4.2 sysnand and i want to test a cfw on it. I have a couple of questions about it:

1. Do I need a DS flashcard for the mset exploit? I mean, i dont have one . Does the browser exploit work on 4.2?
2. Wich guide do you recomend to follow in order to get CFW?
3. I want to install CIAs (maybe try some games?) they are like wads on wii rigth? Wich app do I need to install them?
