Hacking PSP Wii controller?

Would it be possible to use a PSP as a controller for Emulators or VC games
on the Wii with some cross platform homebrewery ??

Since both PSP and Wii are homebrew capable, I'd say it's possible. Now all you need is someone to make the right software.

I never really liked the feel of the gc controller and I dont have a classic controller, I think it would be a cool addition to wii homebrew. (Assuming you have a psp)

Uhm... Dosent he PSp use infared?, and Wiimote use bluetooth? or did i miss something? i mean i know the wiimote uses IR for detection, but isnt the actual Connection to the console bluetooth?

Well it would get more use out of my PSP... all i use it for now is FFT, and Harvest moon lol

Well, unless you want to do it yourself, I doubt anyone would want to go through the trouble to make software for this. I should think it's possible in some way though.

There's too many aspects to it that make it impractical.

For one, WiFi will introduce latency on the controller. Two, interfacing it with the Wii would require a lot of modification on both systems... moreso than anyone would be willing to do.


Why not settle on a classic adapter? They sell ones that let you connect any type of controller to the GC port.

First off, Wi-fi via the ol Ad-Hoc mode.
PSP to wii is silly really. But would be a fun project.
You could probly um..... watch movies on it?

Duct tape a wiimote to it and use the Analog stick?
Use it as a rear view mirror in a TORCS port?
How bout widescreen homebrew diagnostics?

Too hard to be worth it really, but fun just for the hell of it.

Though if your looking to use a more PSP controller design, well, someone's already done that.

Why bother with USB?

They have NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 to GameCube adapters that work natively.
