Gaming PSP Phat got bricked...

Well... I attempted to put CFW on my PSP Phat without a Pandora Battery.

It got past installing ChickHEN R2, and then I tried to install CFW with CFW 5.50 GEN-D3. It was installing it, and then it crashed. I am guessing it got bricked because it won't start up even though the PSP is getting charged and is plugged in with the A/C Adapter.

So temp, it feels as if the PSP is bricked. It won't start up anymore... So yeah.

Is it possible for me to un-brick the PSP without a Pandora Battery or do I need one? And if I need one, can you help link me some guides on how to un-brick a PSP with a Pandora Battery.

you can try to start the psp with only the A/C adapter in it and no battery

had the same problem and it worked for me.

i made my pandora battery myself it was quite easy but then you will never can use the battery again.

you can buy one from dealextreme quite cheap and it is easy.

and i heard something about making a pandora with the xupdater from gen you can make and unmake with it but i am not sure about that one and the problem is that you will need another psp to do that.

if you chose one of these i will help you with the one you choose.

If you install the Team GenX pandora on your memory stick, even a hard modded pandora battery will work regularly. The only thing is, it has to be installed on all memory cards that you use.

I want to fix this PSP ASAP. So the Pandora battery I saw at DX... I saw one at KickGaming that looked exactly like it. Then I am going to price match the one at KickGaming with one I saw at another site so that it will be cheaper.

So basically...
- Buy PandoraBattery from Kickgaming
- Price match battery from another site so that one at KickGaming will be cheaper
- Save money

Then after that, how can I fix my PSP with a pandora battery? Any guides out there that can help me out. I also have a 1GB and 2GB MS btw.

that part is easy you have to have a minimum storage of 1 gig and it has to be a magic memorystick. (i did it with my photofast 5400 lol )

you have to have 5.00 firmware

and RainsUltraLiteMMS or something and the program will do it for you.

after that its just memorystick in psp and battery in psp and then press install 5.00 firmware on psp.

the use xgenupdater to go to gen firmware.

I have a 1GB Memory Stick with some folder on it that says "BACK-UP" or something... I am not gonna format this MS just yet... I will do that once I buy the Pandora Battery. I hope this works... And will keep you guys updated with the happenings.

Naw, he means you have to have 5.00 firmware on your MMS. It doesn't matter what your current FW is because you're gonna flash it... or something. Trust me, you won't have a problem, the 1000 is pretty good about this stuff.

Okay... So here's what I understand so far...

Things I need:
- PSP 1000
- Pandora Battery
- Magic Memory Stick

Procedure:
1. Converter Memory Stick to a MMS
2a. Put 5.00 Firmware on it [how...?]
2b. Use RainsUltraLiteMMS to install everything onto MMS
3. Put MMS into PSP
4. Put Pandora Battery into PSP
5. When I attempt to turn it on, what will be on the screen. Anything specific?
6. Install 5.00 Firmware
7. Use XGenUpdater to update firmware

And that's basically it...?

You put a 500.pbp (5.00 update) on the root. I think that Rain's program does this for you but it has been a while since I used it. (which was back in April

) When you put the pandora in you will be in the DDCv8 screen which asks you if you want to flash 5.00 m33 or 5.00 ofw and backup nand and another thing iirc. Just pick 5.00 m33. Then it flashes and reboots and voila cfw. Oh and hold L or whatever Rain's maps the button for the pandora to start up DDCv8. (I believe you can chose the button)

1. yes you need a memory stick
2. Using RainsMMS should take of putting cfw on you MMS
3. no need to explain
4. look at 3
5. once you put ur pandora battery in your psp, it should turn on on automatically and you should see orange or green lights on both sides of your psp to show that its working
6. follow instructions on psp screen to install cfw on MMS
7 after thats done then you use the XGenUdpater to update ur firmware
