Hacking psp mugen help

Hello everyone. I have always been interested in mugen once I saw it about a month or two ago. I spent hours trying to convert characters, installing the game, levels....etc but after I got everything done, the game was very very slow and buggy and weird/unplayable. If I punched for example, the punch would spam on its own taking down all the enemy's hp; the loading screen took forever and was buggy and static like.
I was wondering if someone ever got a successful install of mugen on psp. If so, could you explain how?
