Hardware PsP disable volume down

my psp is, i think the very first version of it lol it's a psp phat and it's in a good condition everything works fine EXCEPT for this stupid volume down button. It just keeps on pressing itself even when i dont and you could legit see the volume go down by itself. I was wondering is there someone who has or could possibly make idk a plugin to disable the volume down just so it could stop? I really dislike the fact that i can't enjoy my games without the sound and bgm and it's driving me insane lmao

I tried resetting the default settinngs as i read it in a thread and it worked... for a few hours and then it just went on pressing volume down again by itself.

edit: the volume down isnt stuck or anything though and presses fine just like the other buttons.

Did you take the faceplate off? I think that'd be the only way to know, for sure, if the button is getting stuck.
