Introduction
PSP CheatUp was designed to simplify the task of updating the cheat codes of any PSP cheat engine through the use of the PSP's Wifi and a wireless internet connection. The cheat files are hosted by GBAtemp.

Feature Summary
The following features are available in PSP CheatUp:
  • Display the Changelog and Gamelist.
  • Filter available games by region.
  • Search available games and codes.
  • Update application from the PSP.
  • Update cheats for most PSP cheat engines.
Changelog (0.50)
  • Added: Support for third party cheat download mirrors and alternative cheat datbases.
  • Added: Additional search prefixes to view NitePR code file (refer to Readme for more information).

Thanks for this, I haven't test it this yet but since it wasn't mentioned I am going to assume that this doesn't have update function for the application itself? If not, can it be implemented? Doesn't need to be autoupdate, just updates to the newest one when you choose the option.

I fixed the problems I was having a few days ago so you can download the cheats from within the application, there is no need to load an internet browser window first to manually download the cheats.

I didn't mean downloading the cheats, I meant downloading the application automatically when there's a new revision.

Ah, I see... I haven't implemented that yet. However I might consider implementing it in the next update since it shouldn't require too much more work.

Sorry guys for any of the bugs in the first release I just updated PSP CheatUp to 0.20 which should fix some of the problems and the application can now be updated through the PSP's Wifi as well it takes a little longer to check for an update however it now also checks if the cheat database actually needs updating so the user doesn't accidentally download the DB when they already have the latest version.

Refer to the first post for the full changelog and download link.

Poll
I need some feedback on whether PSP CheatUp works for the majority of the users. I have read numerous reports of black screens on load which is obviously not good. There are far too many possible factors which influence whether the program works or not, including firmware version, the activated plugins and possibly the PSP version (PSP-1000, PSP-2000 or PSP-3000). If PSP CheatUp does not work for you could you please post here these details of your PSP so I can attempt to replicate the problem. So far I have tested the application on a PSP-1000 with 5.00 M33-6, PSP-2000 with 5.50 GEN-B2 and PSP-3000 with ChickHEN R2. Also could all users who have tested the application please vote in the poll so I can get an idea of what percentage of people are having these issues.

After a few hours of fucking around trying many different things I think I've finally fixed it. The error was caused partially because of my error handling and partially because of the GBAtemp server transfer.

Could someone please give PSP CheatUp 0.33 a go to ensure it doesn't just work for me. The update will unfortunately have to be a manual update from everyone as that is the only way I can fix this error.

After this there will hopefully be any more changes because this program seems to be causing more problems it solves.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

------------

Also just a little speed test I done a few days ago to try and narrow down where most of the time is spent in installing the new cheats from the ZIP. Here is the comparison of installation of the CMF related files:

Extraction Speed - Compression - Archive Size
17 sec - no compression - 1792KB
84 sec - fastest compression - 546KB
84 sec - best compression - 482KB

So most time is spent decompressing the files it seems which is a bit annoying because the decompression code is fairly small and relies on zlib so I don't think I can ever really optimize the speed.

It works great for me now. (version 0.33)

Thanks for all the hard work and dedication. Seriously one of the best apps out there for the PSP.

I almost panicked when 0.32 was failing on homebrew and database update checking.

Thanks for the update raing3

EDIT: I see you've added 0.33 on QJ also. Both pages bookmarked for ease

EDIT 2: PSP CheatUp has been working perfectly for me ever since it's release. Running 5.50 GEN-D2. Vote added.

Updated to version 0.40
  • Added: Region filtering (EU, US and JP) for GameList.
  • Added: GameList search function (if search term is a Game ID available cheats are listed).
  • Fixed: Problem extracting files from ZIP archive which aren't compressed.
  • Other: CMF and NitePR cheat files are only extracted if the file size is different to the file in the archive.
  • Other: Will now load on 6.xx custom firmwares.

If you are using version 0.32 or lower and get the error message sceHttpGetContentLength error (80431072) you must manually update to the newest version (download).

This is because when GBAtemp was moved to a new server it somehow interfered with the error handling and caused the program to report a false connection error.

My cheatup doesnt work. I start it and it goes to black screen, cant press PS button(home button).. i cant do anything, except shutdown... help?
