Hey everyone. Did you know GBAtemp now has their own PSP cheat datbase? No... well it does. The cheat database wasn't started that long ago (16th of June 2009) and is still very small but I am calling on all PSP owners to come join the cheat forum. There are a few members already helping out but the more members we can get the better.

The cheat database will primarily be focused around the CWCheat code format however most of the cheats will also be converted to NitePR format and will be packaged with the PSP Cheat Database.

Updating from mah PSP
It is now possible to update the PSP Cheat database from the PSP without the need to connect it to the computer through USB. Simply download PSP CheatUp and you will be able to update wherever there is a wireless network with internet which you can connect to.

Thanksies
A big thanks also to gangstamalu, Hiei-YYH, elixirdream and the creators of the codes for helping out with the database. A full list of thanks is listed in the Credits and Help file. Some of the notable sites where codes were collected from include:

FAQ

Q: What is the recommended cheat engine for use with the PSP Cheat Database?
A: I would recommend either CheatMaster Fusion (CMF) or CWCheat. CMF fully supports CWCheat database files and offers an improved interface, much faster search speeds and a few other additions.

Q: Help me, some of the codes don't work, why is this!?!?
A: Some codes may have errors when they were created or were not tested on untouched ISOs/UMDs. If you are not testing the code on an untouched ISO/UMD then you should first test on an untouched version before reporting the problem.

All the cheats work but for some reason, the game freezes everytime I open the game from the PSP menu. It's the CWCHEAT plugin that's causing it. I hope they release another firmware for CWCHEAT.

My PSP is on 5.50 GEN-B (FULL)

Im ghlad there's a GBATEMP PSP Cheat Database now. What's the difference from the cheat.db of the original team to this one? This database has less size than the original cheat database.

Excellent. I look forward to seeing this progress.

@Chris_Skylock: The reason this database is so smaller is because it was started from the beginning and not built upon from the previous CWCheat database which has a large amount of non-working cheats and many of the cheats in the CWCheat database are also not formatted correctly. I guess if you want to use the cheat database now your only options are to try and see if NitePR/CoderPR works or downgrade to 5.50 GEN-A. CWCheat will likely never be updated because weltall (the developer of CWCheat) has disappeared

Just found out that it's GEN-B's bug that makes the CWCHEAT to crash sometimes. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I would love to see this cheat database grow just like the NDS version

Good call, the cwcheat database was indeed a mess. Are you accepting submitted cheats from it if people first confirm them working? Obviously there are tons of really good ones to be found, and taking up the project of sorting+testing them would be preferrable to reinventing the wheel--so to speak. At least for the current games.

Next time I make some of my own cheats I'll definitely submit them to you. And thank-you for doing this.

Yes, I am most definitely accepting submitted cheats as long as they are confirmed (preferably in more than one area/level/race etc.).

I am also in need of people who can simply test cheats, there are many cheats I have copied from the Datel/Codejunkies database which are most likely to work but may not. So if anyone has any of the games mentioned here it would be greatly appreciated if you could take a few minutes of your time to test the cheats for that game and report back in the thread of that game so I can verify that they work.

going to test the Dissidia cheats. the previous one works but there's no x8 EXP. T_T

good to see some familiar games added. I would love to see some FFIX PSX cheats though but that's out of the question. i dont have that much games only a few.

I would love to see project diva cheats but i dont think it's happening. bleh. what am i asking? go on with your current codes. dont mind me for the moment

for the project diva, i dont know how to export cheats. i kinda like it similar to Ouedan cheats (max life, infinite life) but it's easy enough if you get used to it. trying to code one though

hope the database goes well! it's really good that you've started a cheat database from the PSP and you update it really fast thanks, i cant use it yet but one day... ill hack my psp

Thanks to Narin for giving me access to upload the files myself. Now I can ensure the GBAtemp mirror is always updated. I also added a index page similar to the NDS and GBA cheat index pages so now it looks prettier.

Yes, you need to install CWCheat which can be downloaded from here. The install information is in the archive which you download from the site.

EDIT: Joe88 beat me too it. Serves me right for not refreshing for 15 minutes :S.

Much as your avatar perturbs me raing, this is sterling work since the Official db has many dupes and problem codes. If once you get the ball really rolling you could expand that to include CWCheat codes for pops you'd be the PSP Cheatmaster!

Even though i only use CWCheat for the text reader, this is a great endeavour.
