I have a PSP-1000 model. The 'Phat' PSP battery works on 1000, 2000 and 3000 models. Is the 'Slim' battery (that is used on 2000 and 3000 models) work on a PSP-1000 model? Explain to me why or why not for this.

No because it is smaller and stuff, Actually not really sure why it doesn't work, I guess just cuz its smaller so it would be hard to get out and also the voltage is different and it wouldn't last long in the phat.

The 'Slim' battery is small? I think it's just the same size as the 'Phat' battery but slimmer. Is this true?

Can't see from the picture but the slim battery is thinner. The slim battery also has less mAh and the phat uses more power so the battery would fit in too deep inside the phat and would also not be powerful enough to run it for the normal amount of time.

It's not practical to use the 1200mAh battery in the PSP 1000. It can be done, but the battery doesn't sit well and can fall out, plus the charge time is horrible in the Phat PSP. Why would you want to try it?

True, there is a movie on youtube also.
This person has a PSP phat with a phat battery in it.
100% charged and it shows hours of play left.

Now he takes out the phat its battery and puts it in his slim.
100% charged also and the hours of play left went up massive.

I think that also shows the PSP slim drains less battery than the PSP phat.
One small problem is you can not close the PSP slim its battery cover when using a phat battery.

Now when you turn these battery`s arround. (Slim battery in phat)
You can tell pretty much by yourself it will not keep up long as the other way arround.

neat not to rely on the CDs or similar tho

If they could read games directly from it would've worth it more

So, it can't/isn't a microSD input device?

You would need to hack the Dreamcast to run games from the memory card instead of trying to read the disk drive.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Don't know if it's that hard dreamcast had no write protection and it's basically a ps1
  • Veho @ Veho:
I guess you could make a bootloader that would just run off a CD and tell the console to read and run a game off of the memory card?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
They could potentially get GDEMU (GD-ROM Emulator) to read from vmu like how ps1 has mx4iso
  • Veho @ Veho:
Thing is, the Dreamcast was so easy to pirate I don't think anyone bothered to hack it.
