Hacking PSP 1001, need some modding help?

Sorry if this has been asked a million and one times but i tried to do some research before i wrote on here. Most of my google searches pointed to this website. Was goign to use the guide that is stickied 'How to sofmod (hack) your psp'

but noticed it was old BUT still had replies recently. I have a PSP 1001. My question is, can I still use the guide on the stickied page? or is it out dated? Thanks for any info in advance

Yes, that guide will work, though I recommend the firmware from this thread instead of the one found on that guide.

Just grab that one labeled 660PRO-C2.zip and follow the guide you linked, just using the files from the link I provided instead. It has fixes for bugs that plague the official C2. There's also another CFW variant called ME. It comes down to personal preference but I imagine Pro will serve your needs fine. If you decide to switch, it's not hard to do so.
