Hacking PS4 Update protection

Hello, my ps4 pro (cuh-7116b) is currently on 5.05 and would like to know what if i disconnect the Blue ray drive from inside and disconnect the connectors for rom and if i ever accidently update or someone else does. it will fail to update due to failure of Rom.

I think you are on something: HW update blocker, guaranteed monkeys proof! ^o^

FWIK with a broken (or disconnected) Bluray player, updates for FW 4.70 aren't possible, so unless it was changed with FW 5.05 it should be an option...

Dont go to those extremes. Run the update blocker payload and you wont have to worry about updates.

After that you can use Al Azifs DNS to avoid the update nag.

An ESP8266 is a very cheap, extremely easy, and reliable solution to this problem.
