Hacking ps4 on 4.70 which Jailbreak and why?

I just dug my PS4 out of my Garage and realized its on 4.70, from what ive read I can update to any firmware via thumb drive offline updates but no downgrading.

so it looks like my choices are 5.05, 6.72, 7.02 & 7.55
from what ive read 6.72, 7.02 & 7.55 are way less reliable with the reliability being the worst with 7.02 & 7.55 as they share a webkit exploit so the best choice is 5.05 right?

what are the pro's cons of each, just trying to make a informed decision

5.05 is best. It's most stable and every game gets a backport patch more or less.

Only 5.05

Because it is the most stable firmware for Jailbreak. And the same time it is enough to play all the games even the latest ones like The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider Man Miles Morales etc.

6.72 is less stable than 5.05 for Jailbreak.
7.02 - It is real pain. If you use it you will definitely suffer much more than have fun.
In case when 7.02 is just a pain, 7.55 becomes a real HELL is is absolutely unreliable

Start with 5.05. It's supposed to be the most reliable although my ps4 pro is on 6.72 and works like a charm. There are no benefits of going higher than 5.05 because all homebrew will support 5.05 and I haven't heard of a game that can't be backported to 5.05 so you have access to everything.

You should know that 99.9% of titles that run on 6.72-7.55 can be back ported to 5.05. You just need a patch and maybe a spoofed hen payload. Simples.

Yeah keep checking Specter and tihmstar’s progress. They’re aiming for 5.05 stability on higher firmwares.

Out of curiosity, HEN on a PS4 with 5.05 gets activated the same way as 9.00 (with a USB) or is it sorta automatic?

Still learning about this stuff.
