PS3 System Software Update 4.10

Nothing much; updated browser and changed PSN to SEN(Sony Entertainment Network).

Hi, everyone. We are releasing a new system software update (v4.10) for PlayStation 3 today that will include a few minor changes that we want to make you all aware of.


First off, once you download the new system software, you will be asked to accept a change to our Terms of Service. In an effort for more unity between PlayStation Network (PSN) and other Sony Entertainment Network services, your “PSN Account” will now be named “Sony Entertainment Network Account.” Please note that this change is one in name only and will not change the PSN that you know and love. You’ll still play games online, still have access to the latest downloadable games and add-ons, and still experience a wide variety of movies, sports and music across PSN.
With this system software update (v4.10), we’ll also be updating the PS3 Internet Browser with improved display speed.

kakarato (is it?) is working on a hack but i think dont think we have to worry about the ps3 system version as the exploit methods are not known yet

So I just got an E-Mail from Sony...

"Dear Foxi4_Qnet,

Effective from 8th february 2012 „PlayStation®Network accounts” functions will be re-named to "Sony Entertainment Network accounts", „SEN accounts” for short. The change will occour at the same time the firmware update for PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®Vita will be made available. (...) The changes will not affect PSN accounts used on PSP systems. PlayStation®Vita will premiere 22th february 2012.

Only the name of the function will be changed.

Thank you for Your loyalty and support during implementing of those changes." ~Quick and rough translation of the e-mail I just recieved. It was in Polish, bare with me.

From that we learn 3 things:

1. Update for PS3's should be made available either dead-on 8th or at least aproximatelly.
2. Update for Vita's on the way aswell.
3. No updates comming up for the PSP.
