PS1/2 PS3 not working

one of my buddies' buddies has a ps3 and it stopped reading blu rays, could this be easily fixed like adjusting the POT just like it worked with the gamecube? is this some known issue that can otherwise be fixed if its not that?

He should call sony indeed, they will probably just give you a new one if you still have the warrenty.

doubt warranty is still there, theres gotta be some way to do this myself, to me it sounds like the laser has either too high or too low intensity so its not reading discs, but this is only from my experience with Nintendo consoles

Mine did the same thing. After about a month of looking online, I ended up calling sony.

They had a new one to me in something like 3 weeks (I delayed shipping it out tho, so it only took like 3 or 4 days to send mine out and get one back).
