PS1/2 PS2 Parental control

Trying to play a DVD movie in the PS2, but some movies rated T, M, etc are asking for a code/pin to unlock the parental control. I got this console second hand and don`t know the code/pin #. Is there a way around this (reset, etc..)

Yes. To unlock the parental lock, press the select button while a movie is playing (or trying to play) to show the system menu and input this number code: 7444. Try it again several times if it does not work. Unlike the PlayStation Portable, the parental controls on the PlayStation 2 do not affect mature-rated videogames.
