Homebrew PS1 Forwarder Help Needed (Controls Not Responding in Oddworld)

I've tried every option I could in PS1 Forwarder Creator but I can't get the controls to work in Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey. The game boots up great but none of the controls respond so I just end up stuck at the main menu.

This sounds like a case of a game not supporting the dualshock or the different analog controller. Have you tried testing the game with retroarch installed on your 3DS?

Yeah, I tried every controller option on there. I haven't tried retroarch yet since I prefer to inject them all individually but I'll look into it, thank you.
