Chiming in a bit late here sorry but if I have an exploitable vita firmware like 3.18 and an updated ps3 can I buy an exploit game and send it to the vita without updating the vita firmware? Is there a trick to it or it just works?

If you have a ps3 you can send them to your vita any time, you can bypass the update.
