Shots from a Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney cutscene, showing Phoenix and Maya on a flight to London, animated by Bones (who you might remember is also animating Grasshopper Manufacture's shooter in Guild01).

No new details about the game for the moment, but it's still slated to release in Japan for 3DS this year.

I will buy that game if it comes to PAL.

If I can't play it because of the region lock, I sure as hell hope the 3DS gets hacked soon.

The game probably will get localized, though.

There was an English press release for the game that said "English names are TBD" which suggests that a localization is planned. Professor Layton and Ace Attorney are both relatively popular franchises outside of Japan (Layton moreso). Not to mention that Level 5 recently opened an American office which will be used to localize games. They also had a poll asking which unreleased title fans are most excited for (presumably to gauge interest for a localization) and Layton vs. Ace Attorney got the most votes.

Bones seems like a good choice. They did FMA and FMA: Brotherhood if I'm not mistaken.

    you are not mistaken,
they also did soul eater for the people who saw it...

you can actually see some resemblence with FMA: brotherhood where the background looks like its been done with crayons while the objects animated normaly

Anyway looks like she's shoving the mask in his mouth so he can't speak. :D
And Bones is extremely weird for a game like this.

It seems to be doing pretty well so far, I'm going to get that as soon as possible when it's released, two of my favorite franchises coming together.

I wouldn't say so. BONES likes mystery themes and stuffs and this game fits right in!

Animation studio that has nothing to do with Professor Layton or Phoenix Wright while P.A. Works does

I'm not hating on BONES, I mean hello, Eureka Seven sig but it's an odd choice when P.A. Works did the Professor Layton film and games.
