Hardware Problems with left joycon

Just noticed today that SL and SR doesn't work and the lights don't turn on. Other than that you can generally use itbit useless where those buttons arenare i.e. 2 player games.

I opened it up and if the cable is a little stretched, the lights turn on and only one button works but when I close it doesn't.

What could the problem be?

The ribbon cable spends too much time bent and warm, it's a common faulty. Replace the SR/SL ribbon, this part is less than £4.00 and an easy fix if you are confident with ribbon cables etc. Google SR/SL repair guide.
