Hardware problems like freezing and black screen with a softmoded wii

i bought my wii last month. i did not know anything about softmoding and before i even started reading about it i already updated the software so i was on 4.2 U by the time i tought i should try. probably i did something wrong because like i said it freezes and gives me a black screen on all the backups i tried.

so now my question: is there any way i can go back like a format or something so i can start over or there isn't?

again,for the last time,formatting doesn't do anything like deleting channels,if it did,the Wii would be crap.backups might not work cuz you don't have any cIOS in it
