Hacking problem with usb loader on my vwii

I have a problem with usb loader gx on my vwii I have my 500 g hard drive with Y cable my wii u tells me to format the disk when I launch the console I say canceled to play the Wii rom on it but when I run USB Loader, it doesn't find any games (I used Wii Backup Manager) I hope you can help on that.

is it formatted FAT32?

is it plugged in at the back or the front??

Didn't you reverse the cords when plugging it into the Wii U?
