Hacking Problem with R4 and 3DS

Hi guys.

I've got a problem. I ve a R4 card (this one: http://www.chinadigitalmall.com/208-thickbox/r4i-sdhc-white-dual-core-card-for-3ds-dsl-dsill-.jpg ) and a 3ds (whose firm is ver. 2.2.0-4E).
The card is not working: the 3DS menu shows me the icon of Spongebob Altantis and if I click on it a black screen appears.
I tried with the original firm and with the RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update v 6.96. Both of them work fine on an old DSL.
Could you help me, please?

It seems your card does not work on 2.2 firmware, it works up to 2.1 firmware so you can't use it on 3DS, just on the DSL.

Is possible to upgrade the software in any way so that it can work on the 3DS ?

Very well. But my card is not marked "NEW" is it a problem ?
The post you quoted explaines that "Old R4isdhc Dual-Core Card can not update this firmware. If not, the card will be damaged."

Rydan, its the old card that works till 2.1 firmware(White SDHC) and there is no update for it on the site.
Btw hasn't someone made firmwares for R4 Clones here on Gbatemp? Can't remember his name.

The pictures matched so I assumed it was the same thing.

Also there's no firmwares for clone carts. Firmware are encrypted and cart-specific. If there is no update for the cart, then there is no way to update it and another cart is needed.
