Hardware Problem with GC discs

Hi guys, I have a problem, basically I can not play the original GameCube games using the disks. I have to load them using Nintendont (by pressing the Boot Disc option).
I can not enter the game using the Wii Disk Channel, cause, when I enter, the console softresets and you have to disconnect it from the electric current.

Any help?

isn't starpatch the app like priiloader before priiloader was released? have you tried to use neogamma to load retail gc game discs?



nvm - starpatch is a priiloader alternative, probably not many people use it so you probably wont get much help on that. I would find a way to remove it and install priiloader. If you must use starpatch then why not install the latest version which is 4.3.1

Yes, I played GC discs for years on this Wii but now they didn't work without a loader (I don't want to use it)

Can you post a SysCheck report? It sounds like maybe your MIOS may have gotten overwritten.

Try uninstalling Starpatcher, And possibly format the system

Ok, i think the problem is this:
MIOS V10 (DIOS MIOS 2.6.1)

That's probably it. DIOS MIOS versions prior to 2.10 don't support reading from original discs. You can get the original MIOS with ModMii and reinstall it with a WAD manager.

Yes, I solved it by installing RVL-mios-v10.wad
Is there any benefit in using CMIOS with Nintendont as loader these days?

No need for CMIOS anymore since Nintendont is the best GCN solution for Wii and doesn't require it.
