Emulation [Problem!]VB/No$GBA .SAV/.sgm Version Trouble

OK. I downloaded a .sav file for Pokemon Emerald (dont flame - just testing) from GBAtemp.net

I tried loading it on Visual Boy Advance and it didnt work. Looking at my other save files they were .sgm

So I renamed it to .sgm
Still didnt work - wrong version or something.

How do I fix this and get it to work?
