Hacking Problem Running CTRclient on Win8.1

As the title states, I'm having issues getting CTRclient to run on Windows 8.1. It worked fine on Windows 7, but today I decided to do some experimenting and can't get it to do anything. It just spits out:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b)"

I have tried running it in compatibility mode, running it through an admin CMD, and even reinstalled my C++ and .NET files, all to no avail. Am I overlooking something or what?

Exact same thing for me, It seems to crash on windows 8.1 not sure for windows 8. For a workaround IF you can, you can download virtual box and download a windows 7 iso and run it and it should work from there.

I have Windows 8.1 Pro and it works fine :/

So the problem is specifically MSVCR 2012. Seems the 2013 redist doesn't have everything you need.
