I wasn't sure where to put this message, in the switch section or the pc, but I decided here. I'm encountering this problem, and I can't determine which file is being affected. I don't have a lot of confidence in github's issues' section considering the switch one was last updated 2-3 years ago, and there are many unanswered questions. @impeeza @binkinator ?

I did have that problem on my PC and never know how to get over it, even created a Issue but no answer, If I am not wrong using Linux Ubuntu I was able to build, this night will review my notes and let you to know.

I tried ubuntu 18.04, since it's old, but it couldn't find SDL2 or GLESv2 at the very end, yet it was using SDL2 functions. with 20.4 and 22.04, it errors at the tools portion, no idea why.

@godreborn - Yeah, I tried seeing about Compiling a recent Build for the Switch, and all I got was a NRO, and when I tried seeing about looking into making it like the other Switch Build, a NSP, found a LOT of Roadblocks. Seems there are only a short few who could do it, but good luck. Seems no one is willing to risk it.

I tried seeing about a NSP Forwarder, but that had some Issues, especially when I tried creating new Cheats for it.

I think an nro is what you want. what did you compile it with?

A render96 build is great. I saw that one some days ago on the Vita and it looks very nice, though i'm not sure it can be mixed with 60fps as I couldn't find any build with both.

Render96 on the Vita???? Would be awesome to see that one. Guessing Render96EX would not be possible :'(

it's 60fps by default. it's in the settings, which you can access with start, then R if using a controller. you can turn it off if you'd like. L takes you to dynos, which is how you can access any star, any stage. that one thing with Wario was on floor 4, which is the last accessible point in dynos. if you go back through the blue pipe, you appear in the main room of the castle.

I will offer a 3ds version of sm64, which I changed the horrible banner and icon of, for help with this.

Yes, I got a build, sadly it isn't updated up to the last commit available. It also has problems saving, it generates the file but doesn't save anything when you go back to the game after exiting. Unsure about Render96ex as I didn't know about that one. Would love to know if another build could fix the save problem, and if Render96 + 60fps could be combined.

Can tell you for sure the one I got is definitely not 60fps. The one without Render96 is, though.

I don't know about that one. there is a 60fps patch, at least with the one for windows/linux, but it doesn't need it. it's built into the normal build.

Vita only. My only complain besides the lack of 60fps is not having PuppyCam2, as that allows it to be turned off in the settings, which is very convenient for vanilla gameplay. PC surely has everything and more so that one doesn't count as much.

Actually, the last Wii U builds I could get have the same save problem so I had to go back to old ones.

@niuus - Well, if it is later than my Build that I got, basic Build made on 26Sept2020, then it would be a LOT better. Just have to figure Game Saves.

@godreborn - I forgot where I put it. Have to find it. But there is also another Build for the Switch, just need a way to get Cheats for it. Not sure if I can Link it, but just search for SM64 Deluxe cad111

I would like to learn how to build this one, if others have had success. I've tried multiple ways. you're in my friends' list, so we can send pm's to each other.

Hello there you can not share de NSP version because it contains ninty copyrigthed software ;( also you can not share the NRO which have the assets included, only the NRO with external ones.

I got the Deluxe running on my Switch, and it looks great. Just cant seem to find Pointers for Cheats. I found all the ones I could find, but when I go to search for Pointers, there are none, since with the JNoexs, it is not exactly in HEAP or MAIN. so every time it is run, you have to search for them again, and they have different Addresses

I just go through my notes and I have the exactly problem and no help at all the last time I was able to build a NRO of SM64 was 2022 November 12th.

And yes on Linux you will no be able to build because you need libraries do not available.

we are stuck for now.

something is definitely messed up with the code, because it looks for switch rules, and some other files in libnx, which when installed correctly goes on the root of devkitpro, but then it looks for specific libnx files in portlibs, so you have to have two copies of almost everything. makes no sense.

I figured out the problem, sorta. the mwindows error is being caused by sdl2-config. however, even if you remove it, there are loads of library errors afterwards (i.e. that it's in the wrong format). I think the problem is sdl2 itself. it must be too new to work or something, but I'm not sure. there may be other problems we're not aware of as well.

oh, great.
I was able to get to the same spot with cmd prompt, by adding the sdl2-config location in environmental settings. it warned about it not finding it otherwise, so I left it after completely destroying the devkitpro and msys folders, trying to get it to work somehow. I reinstalled them from an acronis true image image, so nothing was lost. thank God I make those every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. anyway, it was my last ditch effort.
