@alexander1970 : can you enable the dump debug info setting , power off the wii, insert the usb, power on the wii , disable the setting again and give me the prii.log that should be on the sd (if present, and otherwise its on usb).
it should come with some timings that i can see where it stalled (hopefully).

@XFlak Hey old timer, you never upset anyone dude from what i remember back in the days. The world needs more people like you and less miserable bastards like me, lol. Nice to see you & Daco still around. Brings back memories!
OK, I installed 0.9b3 and the new hacks, and everything worked great (without any delays). What I can't tell is, if the 480p hack works or not, as I can't really see a difference . AFAIK I can't make a screenshot, as the bug only appears on screen (and not on the screenshot)?
I updated to 0.9 beta 3. The good news is that it keep my System Menu Hack conf. The bad news is that the Wii buttons dont work in priiloader if you try a update. No have buttons in installer screen except +orA button.
however, the booting issue isn't fun.
can you go into the titles menu and boot HBC from there?
i would also like to see if you can enable the 'Dump Gecko output' setting and booting HBC. then disable the setting and showing me what is in prii.log on the sd ( or usb ).

Previously i had prii loader launch the channel forwarder with the latest stable version. Updated to BETA, uninstalled the channel forwarder and did a "direct" install of loader gx through priiloader. It booted right up and detected my usb. I know its not the forwarder version because it didn't show a splash screen. I guess this makes the wii scene that much easier to get into!

oh i see.
the forwarder must be doing some stuff with usb or not loading usb loader gx correctly then (probably the bss or skipping some sections)
while switching to the new loader i was able to remove some limitations (that would overwrite priiloader in memory) making the binary loading a lot better and reliable (for system menu too).
either case, glad to read my loading code has improved a lot!
just keep in mind that updating the usbloader gx on your SD card won't update what priiloader loads! thats what the forwards were for!
I use the latest Beta Version and I have this Behavior "again" with the USBLoader GX installed as File to Boot.
When I reset the Wii after a Freeze it happens sometimes that the Wii boots into the Wii Menu instead of USBLoaderGX.
I had this a long time ago until I installed the correct Forwarder Channel (USB Loader GX AHBPROT Available).
Did I something wrong (again) ?
its hard to know what actually happened without the log of priiloader starting.
how did the wii shut down and what settings are you using for power on, reset and power off?

BootMii is installed as boot2 and disabled.
The Wii is set to IDLE Shutdown Mode (RiiConnect)
WiiConnect24 is enabled
Power on always with the Wii Motion Controller.
Normal Shutdown FULL per USBLoader GX
After Freeze/Crash holding Power off until the Red Light appears.
Unfortunately I can not re-produce the Issue "on Command".
(Yes I know, that is not he Answer a Developer wants to hear....)
Actual I have tried it a few Times in a Row
- Starting Game
- Game freezes with Black Screen
- Power Off with the Wii Power Button until the Red Led appears
- Power On with the Wii Motion Controller
- Wii Boot into USBLoader GX
- Starting Game
- Game Freezes......
Actual no Issue.....
I hope this is all ok and correct and helps you.
Thank you.
Oh, you can now use the dol without the forwarder? good to now the loader works fine
though, like he said, users with the full dol installed in priiloader will have to reinstall it on new release (not that there are a lot).
@DacoTaco:
Hello,
nice to see you are still working on it and fixed lot of things.
Thanks for your work and time spent on it.
Is there any technical reason why Priiloader couldn't autoboot non system installed channels? it's limited to sysmenu or hbc only.
For example booting directly usbloadergx's forwarder channel, without the need to install the "forwarder dol to forwarder channel to usbloader's dol"?
well, now I guess the "forwarder dol to usbloader's dol" will work fine too thanks to the updated loader, but I just thought priiloader was missing the option to choose a channel to autoboot from a list of found titles and it would be a nice addition for final release.
not limited to usbloadergx forwarder channel, I just used it as example because it's a common one, but it could be nswitch, or any other games.
