Does anyone have any idea how to get the Disc Area Checks entries to put into the PreLoader hacks.ini, for loading alternate region Wii games with the same compatibility as GeckoOS (as opposed to hit and miss), if it's even possible ..?

I just downloaded it twice and got "unexpected end of archive" when i tried to open it.

Is that just me?

I got softchip 78 fine though ...?

i got the same thing the first time i got 1.56mb and the second time i downloaded it, i got 3.68mb. maybe ill try it again tomorrow. thanks for the link. burn, BURN, yes your gonna burn.

2nd time seemed to work for me. Have a 34 meg zip that doesn't give the unexpected end error. MD5 is 1a9139176665c53527167564f087a823

First page bottom of first post has a link to what seems to be a pretty complete 3.2e/u Hacks.ini. The only hack that comes to mind that I don't see is the move disc channel one.

Compliments of Fishears this is the "complete" starfall hacks for 3.2E and 3.2U.
Personally, I have not checked these but I am sure these work just fine.

You means that 3.2j can use preloader v.25 to hack wiis?

PreLoader can be used on 3.2J, but no one has hacks for japan region (288)...!!!

OK, I managed to get the codes used in the AnyRegion Changer 1.1b mod05 by QLeap which added 'ENHANCED' Region Free, meaning it added 'Disc Area Check' to its patching - for modchips that force-patch for a region (like D2SUN, where you can't have the chip be on 'open', thus always applying 'RegionFrii' type patching), the GC Region Free with Video Mode patching doesn't work.
My Metroid Prime USA would show a black screen instead of showing the video in the intro, on my PAL Wii, unless I flashed my chip to have an 'open' region and not patch for one, in which case the GameCube Region Free with Video Mode patching would work and not clash with the chip, and would show video.

For testing purposes, I flashed my chip back to a firmware which forces the chip to patch for PAL, showing my Metroid Prime USA without videos in the beginning. With the Disc Area Check codes I got from the AnyRegion Changer 1.1b mod05 it shows video now, although I have to admit that while testing with PreLoader, disabling and re-enabling the settings, sometimes it was a bit iffy and worked/didn't work properly, but with it on now it works just fine for me.

If someone could help me out with a 3.2U 289 System Menu DOL file, I can search through it and give you the USA equivalents, since I wouldn't want to be general and say just add 4 to the offset, since it might not apply..

I'd need the main.dol in the /title/00000001/00000002 folder, whichever one it is for USA (for PAL it's 00000046.app and it's ~3MBs).. you can know which one it is in FS-Browser if you search for it after installing PreLoader 0.25, since PreLoader takes it and turns it into 100000XX.app of the same name - that would be the file I need, although I don't think it's alright to post it on the forum :S
FS-Browser can dump the file if you press the 1 button highlighting it, to the root of the SD Card..
